Rt 6 Korean War Project:
A little over two years ago the Rotary Club of Hyannis began the clean up and the caretaking of the Korean War Memorial. The 1st two years entailed weeding, trimming, removal of dead plants, and mulching. Rotarians and AmeriCorps did the labor and Hyannis Rotary supplied the materials, until we could put a team together. This complete makeover is a joint project involving Hyannis Rotary, The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce and the State of Massachusetts. This year we will be replacing the existing plantings with local, drought
resistant, and pollinator plants. We are saving a small area of the garden for sensory plantings and perennials. With a little help from our friends at Country Gardens and St Peter Landscape the work is scheduled to start next week and be completed by Memorial Day Weekend. There will be a reopening celebration to be scheduled the week of the 19th-23rd.
