Food Drive for Local Food Pantries

This epic day of service is our 4th annual collaboration with Market Basket in Epping NH. Rotary members greet shoppers with lists of items needed by local food pantries.  The shoppers that choose to participate, buy some items and give them to us when they leave the store, filling many shopping carts.  Food pantry staff help the Rotary, in their designated time slots, with customer interaction and to pick up the items donated and fill their vehicles. It is impactful, and the best thing is that it is all done in one day with no need to store food items until delivery is possible.  It is a fun day, especially seeing the response of the shoppers to address food insecurity in the six communities that we serve.
