Present a Community Health Fair

Information is the best antidote to poor health decisions and outcomes.  May is Awareness Month for Hypertension, Stroke and Mental Health, which was the inspiration for setting this as our Epic Day of Service Project.  Making learning fun is a great way to get through to people of all ages, who might otherwise not engage with health information.  We will be working with another community organization - Columbia County Pathways to Recovery to put on a community health fair entitled Healthy at Any Age, offering games and activities for all ages, three fitness classes, free blood pressure readings, food and a wide variety of health and fitness information.  The event will be free, but the sale of food will raise funds for Columbia County Pathways to Recovery, which promotes and supports recovery from substance abuse, which is one of the larger problems in our area, especially among young people.
