Roll Up Your Sleeves: Rotary at Reunity Resources — Saturday, May 23

Let's get our hands dirty for a good cause.

On Saturday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Rotary Club of Santa Fe will volunteer at Reunity Resources, the local nonprofit that turns Santa Fe's food scraps into rich compost, grows organic produce for the community, and teaches kids and families where real food comes from. Their work closes the loop between waste and harvest — a beautiful example of service in action.

Juliana and her team have a full slate of projects ready for us:

• Painting — brushes in hand, fresh coats to apply
• Shed work — repairs and improvements (the more hands, the better)
• Building a shade structure for the "worm hole" compost bin — calling all creative carpenters and engineers; lumber and posts are on site, ready to be reborn
• Spreading mulch across the garden
• Planting the next round of crops
• Irrigation assistance

Start time is 9 a.m. Plan for three hours, but come late or leave early if you must — every hour helps.

Bring work gloves, sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Tools are welcome but not required.
