Sort & Weigh Bottle Caps and Lids

Our community and club members have been saving bottle caps to recycle into park benches - 10 tons of them so far.  Once collected, they need to be sorted to remove unacceptable items, are weighed and then dumped into a super sack (seed bag).  Each full bag weighs about 400 pounds.  The six-foot plastic bench takes 200 lbs. of caps, and weighs 185 pounds - very little waste!  Tables will be set up for people to come and go during this time and learn about the sorting process.  The club has purchased three blue benches already for one park and four benches, two trash receptacles and 3 picnic tables (one is ADA) for a new park we are creating in our community.  Come join us!
