Nature With Neighbors, Volunteer Start 9:00 am MT
Come join the Erie Rotary Club on May 17 for our 3rd Annual Nature With Neighbors pollinator planting and weeding project at Thomas Reservoir.
In partnership with the Town of Erie Parks & Recreation and Friends of Coal Creek, we’re coming together for an EPIC Day of Service—creating a welcoming habitat for pollinators while caring for a space we all share.
Whether you come solo, with family, or alongside neighbors, this is a chance to connect, enjoy the outdoors, and make a visible difference in our community.
Dig In for a Greener Erie 🌱
We’ll kick things off at 8:00 a.m. as we get everything set and ready to welcome volunteers. From there, we’ll roll into two easy, flexible shifts so everyone can jump in when it works best:
- Shift 1: 9:00 a.m.
- Shift 2: 10:30 a.m.
We’ll start each shift with a quick, friendly safety overview and a short intro to Colorado native plants—so we all know what we’re planting and why it matters.
From there, we’ll break into teams and get moving. There’s a role for everyone, and we’ll naturally find our rhythm together:
- Diggers getting the ground ready
- Planters bringing new life into the space
- Water carriers keeping everything thriving
- Clean-up crews helping the whole area shine
Our Rotary Club tent will be the heart of it all—a place to connect, grab water, enjoy a snack, and swap a few laughs in between the good work.
This is one of those mornings where we’ll get a lot done, meet great people, and leave the space better than we found it—all while having a genuinely good time together.
No experience needed—COME PREPARED and a willingness to jump in and do some good.
- Tools, supplies, gloves, water and snacks provided
- Dress appropriately, sun protection, closed toe shoes, a water bottle and your favorite gardening gloves
- Welcoming for individuals, families, and groups - All ages are welcome!
Together, we’re supporting Erie’s sustainability efforts and creating something lasting for everyone who enjoys this space.
