Clean up the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve
Imagine taking your morning walk in this beautiful 100-acre protected Mojave Desert habitat in Lancaster, California, and during your walk, instead of admiring nature, you notice trash, bulky items dumped on the area, and other debris. Most of us can not relate to that but our local residents can. The AVC Rotaract club and the Rotary Clubs in the Antelope Valley have come together to make a change. We invite you to volunteer to help clean up the three miles of trails and to take a moment to admire the native ecosystem containing Joshua trees, California junipers, and an 800-year-old creosote bush, and local wildlife.
Be there a little before 8:00am to complete a waiver and for general safety instructions. Be sure to bring a trash bag, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, wear long pants and tennis shoes. We will provide refreshments and sweets/snacks.
