Rotary Epic Day of Service for Older Adults
According to the Marin County Older Adult Needs Assessment released in 2024, more than 30% of Marin County residents—approximately 78,000 people—are age 60 or older. Among them, one-third report feeling isolated or lonely, and nearly half of those individuals experience food insecurity. In addition, 47% of older adults report difficulty living within their means, often forced to choose between paying for housing, utilities, food, medications, or other essential expenses.
May is Older Americans Month, recognized by the Administration for Community Living, a time to celebrate the contributions of older adults and reaffirm our commitment to supporting them.
The Marin Rotary Epic Day of Service for Older Adults, a FREE public event on May 16th, is designed to recognize, honor and serve the older adults in our county. We bring together Rotarians, Rotary Clubs, community members, local nonprofits, and government organizations to bring awareness, communicate and connect our older adults to the resources available to support their well-being and independence, and make the most impact on our older adults’ lives.
Please join us in this meaningful event by sponsoring, volunteering or just bring family and friends to connect, learn, share.
