Collect Food & Funds for Dallas Food Bank

Dallas Food Bank needs help filling its shelves so that hundreds of families each month have the food they need to thrive. Dallas Rotarians will engage our community in a one-day food drive to benefit Dallas Food Bank. We will be collecting nonperishable foods including canned soups, chili, fruit, vegetables and meat. We also encourage direct tax-deductible donations to Dallas Food Bank.

Dallas Food Bank is our community's largest provider of food assistance to families in need.  Now, more than ever, need is high. Dallas Food Bank is serving more than 300 local families each month. Meanwhile, their food supply is decreasing due to cuts to the federal USDA commodities programs that provide food from farmers to the nation's food banks. As well, federal food assistance programs are poised for cuts, which will increase the number of people turning to food pantries for help. 

You may give your tax-deductible donations directly to Dallas Food Bank at https://www.dallasfoodbank.com/. The food bank is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit that has been serving our community since 1983.

Non-perishable foods will also be collected from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, May 17. We'll be in front of our local grocery stores - Grocery Outlet, Safeway, Walmart - to raise awareness and accept food donations. We will also have a collection site set up in the Les Schwab Tire Center parking lot. Sign up to volunteer, ask your neighbors for food donations, and show up on May 17th.
