Westlake

Maintain and improve the cherry blossom walk at the Westlake reserve in Halswell , Christchurch. This walk is a joint venture between Garden City Rotary and our sister Japanese club Sakai . We also will be improving and adding to our Young Tōtara part of the reserve. For every Young Tōtara award we make we plant and maintain a tōtara tree within the reserve. This project started about thirty years ago and continues to grow and expand with Garden City members being the unofficial guardians.
