NB Community Harvest Gardens--Annual Plant Sale
NB Community Harvest Gardens
Imagine a child tasting a tomato they grew themselves for the first time, or a newcomer finding belonging through the shared language of a garden. This is the work of NB Community Harvest Gardens — and it's not simply education. It's transformation. Since 2010, NBCHG has been mobilizing New Brunswickers toward a resilient, thriving food system — one rooted in community, cultural wisdom, and regenerative values. Their pay-what-you-can programs ensure everyone belongs, from seasoned gardeners to those just learning how to grow their own food sustainably.
Annual Plant Sale fundraiser at Hayes Farm
5-10 volunteers are needed for this annual plant sale. All proceeds will support their programming. Plants are pay-what-you-can. This will be a fun, meaningful morning — chatting with neighbours, sharing knowledge about local plants, and helping raise funds that keep this vital mission growing. Service above self, right in the soil. No experience needed or a green thumb! There is something for everyone to do. If you can't volunteer, stop in and buy plants or donate on site.
Are you a Rotarian who would like to volunteer for the plant sale?
Volunteer are needed for the following: providing information to people on the plants for sale; processing payments, counting participation numbers; providing help with carrying purchases to cars; post-event cleanup. 5-10 volunteers needed. Must be over 18.
Time: May 16, 10am-2pm (RAIN or SHINE)
Location: Hayes Farm, 577 Hillcrest Drive, Fredericton
Parking: Volunteers are asked to park away from the farm if possible to allow participants to have parking. If people can bike or be dropped off that's a plus!
