OPERATION ONEMEAL

Delivering hot meals to members of the local community who have been referred to OneMeal by supporting charities.  OneMeal is totally driven by volunteers - from the supply of ingredients from local businesses,  the cooking of the food, the putting together of the orders and the delivery of the food.  Up until recently, the rent on OneMeal's premises was free, but is now at market rates so it is dependent on donations for survival.   Our Club, The Rotary Club of Balgowlah, supplies two volunteers each Monday to deliver meals on a set run.  There are other runs which take place simultaneously supported by other volunteers,   The food runs operate Monday to Thursday every week.  One Club member is assigned as a driver and the other to ensuring the number of hot meals, bread, desserts and fruit and vegetable bags are correct.   Both members deliver the food to the recipients.   All of our members who participate are grateful for the practical opportunity to help members of our community who are doing it tough, either on a short or long term basis.
